Kalinouskaya
Artist / Attorney
EZTV, Artist
Alina Kalinouskaya is among the current new generation of EZTV’s artists and has worked with this seminal video/digital arts group since 2019.

Originally from Belarus, she has a Master's degree in Law from London's Queen Mary University and worked as an attorney in Europe. Her legal science is concerned with subjects such as AI's impact on copyright, as well as technological developments with the arts and entertainment industry. Shifting back and forth between the arts and her legal practice, she has performed dance, music and created visual arts since childhood.  Her dance work incorporates elements of both classical forms as well as being informed by movement traditions from Central Europe, the Middle East and South Asia. Her own ethnic heritage includes in addition to Belarusian, Polish and Ukrainian, also Roma, Tartar and Ottoman. All these cultural threads inform her work, creating a dance/movement vocabulary that is both based in contemporary post-modern perspectives, as well as reflections of her diverse ancestry. Her music also reflects this combination of experimental composition with elements of traditional cultures.

She has worked in Los Angeles in experimental theater and was both exhibited as a video artist as well as created a live multimedia performance “Vitruvian Human” at Bergamot Station Arts Center’s Lois Lambert Gallery as part of both Getty’s PST Art as well as DNA Festival Santa Monica. Her digital video art piece "Transparency Alley" was also included in Getty PST series at the Lambert gallery, in the video art series "Tha Analog Brain."

She recently created an experimental holographic and music piece that premiered conference for advanced imaging at the  iEXCELL Holographic Theater located within the University of Nebraska’s Medical Center. She will create and premiere a new live performance work for REDCAT next year.
