In his four-year career at Digital Domain, Justin van der Lek has already contributed significantly to several blockbuster films. He most recently served as digital environments lead on Real Steel and as a digital artist on The A-Team. Previously, Justin was a digital environment artist on Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, helping to create a fully synthetic New York City environment for the climactic showdown between the hero and his nemesis. He held similar roles on G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, two projects that required live-action plates to be seamlessly integrated with extensive CG environments. Prior to Digital Domain, he provided visual effects work on films including Get Smart and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, television shows such as Bones and Pushing Daisies, and he also contributed to the wildly popular video game Killzone 2. Justin hails from Utrecht in the Netherlands and graduated from G.L.U., the Utrecht School of the Arts.
