Dr. Jeng Yen leads of the Human/Robot Interfacing Area of
Mobility and Robotic Systems Section at NASA Jet Propulsion
Laboratory. He is currently managing the Rover Planning
Subsystem of Mars 2020 mission, and also a Rover Planner of
the Perseverance rover. His work in operating rovers on Mars
began at 2004, the Mars Exploration Rovers mission’s Spirit
and Opportunity rovers, and expanded to the Mars Science
Laboratory mission’s Curiosity rover at 2012. Dr. Yen has a
PhD in Applied Mathematics from the University of Iowa.
