Marina is a Consulting Professor at Stanford University’s Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA). A pioneer in digital audio coding, she has held key roles across the industry, including Chief Technology Officer at MPEG LA, Vice President of Technology at DTS, Project Engineer at Dolby Laboratories, Digital Signal Processing Engineer at Digidesign (Avid), and co-founder and director of the Digital Media Project. A Fellow and Past President of the Audio Engineering Society (AES), and a Senior Member of IEEE, Marina has received a number of awards including the prestigious AES Silver Medal, the AES Board of Governors Award, and the ISO/IEC Editor award for the development of ISO/IEC 13818-7, MPEG-2 Advanced Audio Coding. Marina holds several patents and is author of academic publications including the acclaimed textbook “Introduction to Digital Audio Coding and Standards” (Springer 2003).
