Mike Amron Statement

Mike
Amron

Mike's goal is to bring excitement and renewed interest to the computer graphics community in L.A.

Mike Amron has worked as a technical director for ILM, DD, VIFX, Metrolight and Elektrashock, but he feels the best is yet to come...

Mr. Amron has worked on features (Jingle All the Way, Casper, Looney Tunes), commercials (Pepsi, Coke,Stanley Tools), music videos (Garbage), saturday morning animation (NASCAR Racers), motion capture projects and more....

CG has encompassed varied fields: digital illustration, sophisticated real-time applications, advanced character development, adaptive software and hardware, inner-city opportunity... these times are an amazing era of unprecedented involvement by the community and foretell surprising advances, which L.A. Siggraph will take part in.

Mr. Amron created some of the first presentations and panels of computer animation for the San Diego Comic-Con in the '80's. He created the SIGGRAPH 99 Electronic Schoolhouse Workshop "Visual Effects through Adaptive Technologies". Mike has served on the executive committee of L.A. Siggraph and was chair of the first San Diego Siggraph Chapter.

Mike Amron is an alumnus of California State University Long Beach, with an illustration major, but his interests and studies range from sculpture and animation, to adaptive systems and adaptive sports.
